Worried about how your lamb will arrive and whether it will go 'off'?
Don't worry - when you buy High Peak Lamb from J.W. Mettrick & Son Ltd, it is packed using the latest cooling and shipping packaging to ensure it arrives in perfect order.

What we do
  1. Once we have chosen, prepared and weighed your meat, it is wrapped and labelled as if our butcher was about to hand it to you over the counter
  2. We vacuum seal your lamb cuts and cover them with a layer of Technice to keep them cold
  3. All cuts are placed in a very strong tear-proof plastic bag
  4. We put your cold meat into a specially insulated box which is security tape-sealed with your address label added
  5. Our carriers collect your order and deliver it the next day - meanwhile the Techni-ice in your box will keep the food chilled

What is Techni-ice?
Techni IceTechni-Ice is a rectangular sheet made up of separate cells, containing a special gel which we freeze before we pack your order. Techni-ice can stay frozen for days, unlike ice bags made from water. It does not melt and is non-toxic.

Local orders (blue shaded area on map below) are delivered by refrigerated van.

How to arrange delivery
When you place your order, we will ask you what day you would like your delivery made and where you would like us to leave it, if you are out.

If you have any questions about the delivery and packaging system, please call John Mettrick on 01457 852239.
