Mettrick's beef is sourced locally from farms in the Peak District and Cheshire. Why does this create amazing flavour and texture?
Well, we use Aberdeen Angus and continental cross heifers from a small number of selected farms where we monitor the feed, welfare and the environment in which the animals are kept. The animals come direct from these farms, just a few miles, to our own abattoir. Most of our beef farmers have been supplying Mettricks for 20yrs plus. One farmer has supplied us since before the second world war, he is 97yrs old and still supplying great stock. Our beef is hung for a minimum of three weeks.
